Practice Terms & Conditions

Booking Appointments

To book an appointment, please visit the practice or call 01899 220486. You will be given an appointment card and we will send you a courtesy email reminder of your appointment if you have an email address.

Missed appointments

Missing appointments wastes time and resources needed for other patients. If a patient cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice or misses an appointment, they may be charged as per our practice policy.

Emergency Appointments

For dental emergencies during opening hours, call reception to be given an appointment in a time-frame appropriate to your needs. Should you have a dental emergency outside of the practice opening hours please call NHS 24 on 111 or call reception to hear a recorded message with details of our out-of-hours service.

If you are a member of one of our practice dental plans, should you suffer a dental trauma, a dental emergency or be diagnosed with oral cancer you will be eligible to make a request for assistance from the Worldwide Dental Emergency Assistance Scheme. The Scheme responds to such requests on a wholly discretionary basis. This means that, whilst the Scheme aims to provide benefits in most cases, the Scheme has no obligation to provide any benefit unless the Scheme Manager (the person appointed to administer the Scheme) first decides (in its sole and absolute discretion) that the Scheme should provide a benefit. There are some circumstances in which the Scheme is not designed to help (these situations being similar to exclusions under an insurance policy) and these are explained in more detail in the Worldwide Dental Emergency Assistance Scheme Handbook.

Paying for Treatments

Any treatment offered (either NHS or private) will be estimated, discussed and agreed with you in advance.

Private patients can choose to join the practice Dental Care Plan. Our patients can enjoy a higher level of service and discounts against a full range of treatments. Have the peace of mind knowing that all preventive dental care will be covered by convenient monthly payments. Ask at reception for more details and a leaflet about our Dental Care Plan.

We accept the following methods of payment at the practice: cash, credit or debit cards (we do not accept American express cards or cheques).

Patient Confidentiality

We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously and all personal information
is treated in the strictest of confidence. Patient records are securely stored to ensure that they are only accessed as part of your treatment. No information will ever be released to a third party without your express permission or where required by law.

To see a full copy of our strict confidentiality policy, please contact us.

Patients with Disabilities

We endeavour to see all patients and our surgeries have been designed so that patients with disabilities can access care. If you have any disability that you think we need to know about please give us a call before your appointment and we will do our best to put suitable arrangements in place to accommodate your needs. A ramp is available for wheelchair access. Interpreting services including BSL can be arranged.

Zero Tolerance

Patients who are violent or abusive to staff, other patients or anyone else within the practice will be refused treatment and reported to the appropriate authorities.
